Terrance Charles is a saxophone player and vocalist from Cleveland, Ohio who has become known for his soulful creative contributions to the music scene in Columbus and nationally.

For over 10 years, Terrance has shared the stage as a reedman with local acts including The Floorwalkers, Doc Robinson, MojoFlo, George Barrie Band, Wax Jackets and Parker Louis, as well as nationally recognized artists such as O.A.R. and Sumbuck.  Recently, he has stepped up from his sideman role to lead a collective of musicians who are fusing contemporary jazz and soul for his Terrance & Friends series.

Terrance started his teaching career as a music instructor at the Rainey Institute in Cleveland, Ohio and has over 14 years of experience teaching jazz theory, improvisation and saxophone. He believes that the principle component to performing in any genre is listening and developing a strong internal ear. He currently spends his time as a Teaching Artist through the Jazz Arts Academy offering instruction in schools all across the city of Columbus.

Terrance studied Saxophone Performance (Classical) at Youngstown State University and continued his studies at The Ohio State University where he received a BA in Music.
